A standard roulette table

Roulette is a game, and winning is based on the odds of probability. Always play European Roulette! There are 38 “pockets” on the European Roulette wheel – one green, the rest red and black, and all numbered from 0 to 36 – therefore, the possibility of the ball landing in 0 is 1/37th, whilst the possibility of the ball landing in a black pocket is 18/37 and the possibility of the ball landing in a red pocket is 18/37. Therefore, if you bet £10 on black, the chance of winning is 18/37.

How to Bet

If you look at a standard Roulette table, there are different areas:

You can bet individually

Individual numbers have odds of 35-1 – so if you bet £10, you’d get £360 back (10 times 35, plus your original £10 stake)

Bet on two numbers next to each other

Place a chip on the line between the two numbers you want to bet on – e.g. the line between 2 and 5. These pay back at 17-1 – so if you bet £10, you would get £180 back if either number came in (10 times 17, plus your original £10 stake)

Bet on four at a time

Corner/square bet – place a chip on the intersection between the numbers you want to bet on – e.g. the + between 10, 11, 13 and 14. Pay out at 8-1 – so if you bet £10, you would win back £90.

Bet on a dozen

A Dozen bet allows you to bet whether the ball will land on a number in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd 12 numbers – marked on the board. Pays out at 2-1 – bet £10, receive £30.

Bet on a Street

A street/column bet – place a chip on the 2-1 mark at the bottom of the “street” you want to bet on. Pays out a respectable 2-1 – you bet £10, get £30 back!

Bet odd or even

Place chips on either the odd or even box, and you’ll double your money if it comes in.

Bet high or low

Put your chips on either the 1-18 (low) or 19-36 (high) box to double your money if it comes in.

Bet Red or Black

The most popular bet. Double your money.
